30. Cove Point Lighthouse

The Canters’ efforts to reach Cove Point required persistence. An active Coast Guard site, the grounds had been closed to the public. On our first visit, we simply showed up at the locked gate and peered in. Then we viewed this from nearby on the western shoreline and from a boat tour out of Crisfield. Jeffrey finally was able to go to the grounds, hug and go inside the base of Cove Point Light on January 18, 2003.
