The lighthouse that is closest to home, Jones Point is often visited when Jeffrey needs a lighthouse “fix”. Jones Point Park is an interesting place to see boats, planes and highway traffic and gain an unusual perspective on the monuments of downtown Washington.
The Woodrow Wilson Bridge (Interstate 95 over the Potomac River) is within 1500’ of Jones Point. The new Wilson Bridge is being built slightly closer to the lighthouse, and there will be construction in the area until 2008 or so.
