Back to Jeffrey's Lighthouse Visits
Twin Lights of Navesink, Highlands, NJ - April 13, 2001

The fog broke briefly for this snapshot of the Twin Lights. As ocean-going vessles would cross the Atlantic from Europe, they would look for the Twin Lights from as far as 70 miles out, and adjust their heading into New York harbor. If the first lighthouse they saw was not the twin lights, they knew they were considerably off-course. In Twin Lights State Park, another nice museum and gift shop here.

Jeff and Dad climb the accessible northern
light.
