Eatons Neck Lighthouse, Asharoken, NY - April 14, 2001

At dusk, we received permission from the Coast Guard to briefly arrive on the grounds at Eatons Neck. The huge smokestacks from a powerplant in nearby Asharoken look surreal and dwarf this elegant structure…for shame. It was windy and we were chilled. This concluded a breakneck-speed tour of Long Island lighthouses and we drove through Manhattan 5 hours home, arriving at 1 am.
