Piney Point Light, Valley Lee, MD - spring 2001

Another lighthouse with some history, Piney Point was a summer retreat for the Presidents, an old-time version of Camp David. Presidents beached here for the brackish water breezes and a getaway from Washington stress and congestion. There is a museum and gift shop here. The restoration of the interior of the lighthouse, so it can be climbed, is on schedule for the near future.
